In the spirit of Halloween I have a thought I want to share with you. Think about the times when goblins appeared out of nowhere, ghosts chased you down long dark hallways or vampires cornered you ready to suck the blood right out of you.
Okay, so let’s say it’s not Halloween and this is everyday life. Consider the times when life didn’t go the way you wanted or ever thought it would. Consider personal or business relationships that blew up in your face, or the problems that were dropped in your lap of your making or no, and you were expected to discover solutions.
Whether it’s Halloween or everyday life, when surprises get the best of you, I want to share with you what I do. I’ve made up magic words which I say aloud or just to myself depending on where I am, in order to change what is occurring, and then focus my attention on my desired outcome.
You might say I am simply changing my focus or redirecting my energy (or perhaps I am nuts) whatever, but by interrupting my pattern I am restating my intention for the result that I want.
I won’t tell you what my magic words are, and in fact, it really doesn’t matter, because they matter only to me. So, here’s my suggestion, next time you find yourself in crisis, stop what you are doing, make up some words that sound magical to you, or recite a blessing, or express words of love or gratitude, hold your hand out in front of you as you say your words and then focus once more on your desired outcome. Really believe in what you are doing and see what happens. You may find that you believe in magic too…….and Happy Halloween!
