What is your Brand? | Victor Benoun

Victor Benoun

We hear about brands and see brand id’s every day.  By brands I am referring to the way that companies represent their products to the world.  Coke is printed in script across the can, Nike has a swoosh, McDonalds has the Golden Arches.

But what about you?  What is your brand?  Whether you are in business or not, we all have a brand.  What do you want people to think and say about you?  What is the most important thing that you want people to know about you?

Look we can’t control what other people think but we can control what information we put out about ourselves.  The good news is that the internet and social media is everywhere…..the bad news is, the internet and social media is everywhere.  In essence we must be aware of the messages we are giving to others and see if they are congruent with the person you are and want to be known as.

Whether we like it or not we are always being assessed or judged.  This occurs during job interviews, applying for a loan, even meeting new people.  Ask yourself if your message is consistent with your personality.

The most important things I want people to know about me is that I am trustworthy and honest.  These are my core values.  I hope they resonate with people of like minds who will want to know me and do business with me.

All I am saying is that it might be a good idea to look at your social media and the way you represent yourself.  You never know when you might want to look for a new job or start a company or make new friends.  People like people who are like them and it is so easy today to find out information.  Is your image consistent with the person you really are.

Just something to think about during this Facebook, Instagram, Tweeting, Pinterest world that we live in. 🙂
